Purpose
Farming New Orleans is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for all individuals associated with our organization, including staff, governing board members, volunteers, and the communities we serve. This non-discrimination policy is designed to ensure that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect and are provided equal opportunities regardless of their personal characteristics.
Scope
This policy applies to all aspects of Farming New Orleans' operations, including but not limited to employment, volunteer opportunities, governing board membership, programs, and services.

Farming New Orleans strictly prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind. Discrimination and harassment undermine our mission and values, and will not be tolerated in any form. This policy covers discrimination and harassment based on, but not limited to, the following protected characteristics:
Employment Practices
We currently have no employees because we are an all volunteer organization. Should we hire employees, Farming New Orleans is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees. Our employment practices will include, but will not be limited to:
Farming New Orleans values diversity and inclusion at the highest levels of our organization. Board membership will reflect these values, and decisions related to board membership will be made without regard to any protected characteristic. We will actively seek to recruit and retain a diverse board that represents the communities we serve.
Reporting and Enforcement
Individuals who believe they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment in violation of this policy are encouraged to report the incident to Matt Jones, the Director of Operations, or Scott Roos, the President. All complaints will be promptly and thoroughly investigated. Retaliation against individuals who report discrimination or harassment or who participate in an investigation is strictly prohibited.
Consequences
Violations of this policy will result in appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment/volunteering or removal from the Board of Directors.

Farming New Orleans is committed to continuous improvement in our non-discrimination practices. We will regularly review and update this policy to ensure its effectiveness and to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
